Micheál Carrigy: On Toy Show The Musical, page 11 of the document pack mentions "The Late Late Show" live. The possibility of a live show was discussed. We met with people with regard to the musical. We thought it was a fantastic idea to create a musical here in Ireland, but the fact that Mr. Tubridy was not involved meant it was a loser from the beginning.

Seanad: Nithe i dtosach suíonna - Commencement Matters: Health Services (12 Jul 2023)

Micheál Carrigy: The Minister of State is very welcome. I will be brief and to the point. This matter relates to the upgrade of the facilities at St. Joseph's campus in Longford. We have a fantastic radiology facility there that recently got some aesthetic works done but the X-ray machine is badly in need of an upgrade. A lot of services have been taken away from Longford and moved elsewhere, which means...

I am delighted to know that funding is in place and is ring-fenced and that a new X-ray machine will be delivered for Longford by the end of 2023. I would like to see ongoing work expedited regarding Ballyminion. It has been ongoing for a number of years. The Minister of State might bring the message that this...

There is lots of work to be...

I have been a lifelong GAA member and am a former member of the Ard Chomhairle in Croke Park. I just wanted to put that on the record. I recognise all the good work that has been done by every organisation present in...

Joint Committee on Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sport And Media: Future of Sports Broadcasting: Discussion (Resumed) (12 Jul 2023)

Micheál Carrigy: I apologise for being late. I was attending another meeting. One of the proposals put forward by Mary O'Connor from the Federation of Irish Sport was for a television programme similar to "Sports Stadium". Another example is the Australian Government's approach of allocating a certain amount of funding to ensure minority sports are shown. What are the witnesses views and opinions on that...

Micheál Carrigy: The witnesses are all very welcome. I welcome Mr. Bakhurst in particular, and I wish him well in his new role. It is out there in the media that RTÉ will be looking to the Government, and ultimately the taxpayer, for in the region of €50 million to plug a shortfall in the organisation. A significant amount of that has been caused by errors made within the organisation that have...
