Brian Lenihan Jnr: The distinction between a permanent reduction and a temporary waiver seems to be lost on the Deputy. In the case of Secretaries General, level 1, that is the Secretaries General of the Departments of the Taoiseach and the Department of Finance, a reduction of 15% was recommended by the review body. Both the Secretaries General concerned have volunteered to accept a reduction of 20%.
