Pat O'Neill: Is amendment No. 24 being moved?

Seanad: Order of Business (18 Nov 2014)

Pat O'Neill: I have two points to put to the Leader, the first of which concerns the ISPCA. The ISPCA, which is involved in six to eight dog pounds in the country, is withdrawing from those. I believe it has already withdrawn from Offaly and Roscommon, and is now withdrawing from Kilkenny. That has serious implications. I ask that the Leader would write to the Department of Agriculture, Food and the...

Seanad: Report of Commission for the Economic Development of Rural Areas: Statements (19 Nov 2014)

Pat O'Neill: I welcome the Minister of State, Deputy Ann Phelan, to the House. The two of us were elected for the first time in 2004 in the same electoral area, Thomastown in County Kilkenny. We were again elected in 2009. When she was elected to the Dáil in 2011, I was elected to the Seanad six weeks later. However, I have not been offered a Ministry since she was appointed Minister of State....

Seanad: Report of Commission for the Economic Development of Rural Areas: Statements (19 Nov 2014)

Pat O'Neill: A good CAP deal is important for agriculture. I am sorry I did not have time to finish my points. The Minister of State is very welcome to the House and I am delighted at her appointment. Seanad: Order of Business (27 Nov 2014)

Pat O'Neill: Senator Daly also made reference to works of fiction. The greatest work of fiction, or comedy, was when former Deputies Dermot Ahern and Noel Dempsey stood on the plinth and said that the IMF and the ECB were not coming into the country and that a bailout was not necessary.

Seanad: Order of Business (27 Nov 2014)

Pat O'Neill: I ask the Leader to arrange another debate on water because of the hypocrisy of the Sinn Féin party. More than 35,000 water meters have been installed in Northern Ireland.

Seanad: Order of Business (27 Nov 2014)

Pat O'Neill: It is time that party stated in this House-----

Seanad: Order of Business (27 Nov 2014)

Pat O'Neill: I am asking the Leader to arrange a debate on water provision in order that we can find out what is the true Sinn Féin policy on water charges.

Seanad: Order of Business (27 Nov 2014)

Pat O'Neill: If it is in government after the next general election, it will decide to leave water charges in place because it will need the revenue to improve the infrastructure. It should not try to cod the people all of the time; it is doing one thing in the North and another in the South. I seek a debate on its policy on Irish Water.
