- Committee on Transport: National Transport Authority: Engagement (28 May 2025)
Emer Currie: It is very frustrating for commuters. They are suffering because of a lack of buses and capacity. They are not thinking about the implementation of BusConnects. They just want to get to work, school or college on time. Has the electrification of the bus depots held back the number of buses we have on our roads?
- Committee on Transport: National Transport Authority: Engagement (28 May 2025)
Emer Currie: I am flagging capacity issues and we are not seeing the increase in buses that we need. Will Mr. Creegan answer my question with respect to the electrification of the bus depots? While I know it was before the Minister's time and a different Minister was in charge, when the adjustments were brought in, was the Department fully aware of the impact this was going...
- Committee on Children and Equality: Priority Issues Facing the Department: Minister for Children, Disability and Equality (12 Jun 2025)
Emer Currie: We are seeing massive jumps in childcare funding and that is great. We communicated to parents that they would be getting on average a 25% uplift. I am looking for information from the Department as to whether that was delivered. Where did the subsidies bring us? I am aware of a family who have had to leave their childcare place. They could not afford it because of the changes. It is an...
