Clare Daly: Much of the work done by this committee and a great deal of public discourse has centred on the fact that the absence of good IT systems in An Garda Síochána has generated a significant cost for the organisation in terms of prosecutions. This is perhaps a simpler example but it involves 16 rather than hundreds of categories. In the case of a death, this is too many and the issue was flagged a long time ago. What has been done to address that complication in the IT system?

Of these, 317 were defined as an injury received while on duty, 713 were defined as ordinary illness and 83 were defined as critical illness.
