- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health: Closure of Owenacurra Centre: Engagement with HSE (14 Dec 2021)
David Stanton: My time is short. I am concerned about east Cork and large towns such as Midleton, Youghal and Cobh, as well as all the small towns in between that will not have a service. What Dr. O'Brien is saying, if I heard her correctly, is that the service will be moved to Glanmire. That is not acceptable to the people or the taxpayers of east Cork who I represent. We want a service like the one...

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health: Closure of Owenacurra Centre: Engagement with HSE (14 Dec 2021)
David Stanton: In other words, if people want to stay in the centre they can do so. They might not be able to do so indefinitely but there is no major pressure on people to move. The HSE is having discussions and there are reduced numbers in the centre now. In Mr. Fitzgerald's view, is the centre safe at the moment? That is an issue that has come up time and again.

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health: Closure of Owenacurra Centre: Engagement with HSE (14 Dec 2021)

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health: Closure of Owenacurra Centre: Engagement with HSE (14 Dec 2021)
David Stanton: I welcome the moves towards an independent centre for day care. I always felt it was wrong that people were walking through the Owenacurra centre, which was the home of residents. Various people were walking into the centre on various days. Physically separating the two services is a good idea and I look forward to our guests letting us know where that day care centre will be located and...
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health: Closure of Owenacurra Centre: Engagement with HSE (14 Dec 2021)
David Stanton: Could the HSE reimagine and repurpose its plans in respect of sheltered housing or supported housing on the current site? If I heard our guests correctly, a ten-bed unit could fit on the site. Could that be considered? It may be possible to provide a high-support hostel or a continuing care unit there. If the HSE does so, it will have alleviated many of the concerns and fears of members...

- Ceisteanna Eile – Other Questions: Covid-19 Pandemic Supports (20 Jan 2022)
David Stanton: I have been told recently that as we accelerate and expand on digital reforms and transformation, our mobile phone networks are not secure. They are easily hacked and tracked. As we become more dependent on this technology, what guarantees can the Minister give us that these networks are secure and people cannot be tracked and hacked, have our conversations listened into and so forth? An...
- Ceisteanna ar Reachtaíocht a Gealladh - Questions on Promised Legislation (20 Jan 2022)
David Stanton: The Industrial Development Agency, IDA, owns a fully serviced, 150-acre site between Carrigtwohill and Midleton in my constituency. It is lying idle since 2007. There were plans to upgrade the road outside, the N25. Millions have been spent on the plans to upgrade the road, but the plans have now been shelved and there is no clarity. There is also a plan to build 2,500 houses at the other...
