Jim Daly: Some people also get it done privately in order to jump the queue and pay to have the resources allocated. The diagnosis is the least important part. The schools should focus on the strategies to develop language skills and contribute to the individual education plan, IEP, as opposed to having a label and allocation and assuming that it is a case of happy days afterwards.
