Paddy Burke: This is an important section which gives the country the protection of the law. It will result in a decrease in monetary interest when leasing aircraft and so on. It will also help poorer countries to acquire aircraft and modernise many fleets. Given that it will be of major benefit to many countries, why have just six countries signed up to the convention?
