In section 6.4 of the appropriation accounts, under the heading of "Services supplied to Departments and Offices 2013 (Subhead C9 Rents, Rates etc.)", a few examples include the Houses of the Oireachtas and the figure was more or less the same in 2012 and 2013, at €1.128 million. Does it involve repairs or rent?

John McGuinness: That information should be provided by every Department. A Department gives the OPW the brief for 100 employees and the OPW must deliver. The Department must account for the employees. Perhaps a question for each Accounting Officer in coming before the committee might be how many employees are involved, where they are located and whether there is value for money being achieved.
