Pat Gallagher: That is not the case but I will explain the position. The amendments can be amended in the Seanad and then the Bill can return here. It is possible the amendments could be changed, although not necessarily undone. That question is down to wiser counsel.

Pat Gallagher: The advice I have is that what Deputy Donnelly is suggesting is not possible. It is only the amendments made in the Dáil that can be amended in the Seanad. If an amendment is withdrawn here, it cannot be introduced in the Seanad and new amendments cannot be proposed.
