- Road Traffic (Amendment) Bill 2017: Report Stage (Resumed) (25 Apr 2018)
Danny Healy-Rae: What attempt has the Minister made to provide for the people who will be stranded in rural Ireland and for provisional drivers? How are they going to get to colleges, schools, work and other places? The Minister is not being real. They do not have the other modes of transport we have in urban areas. That is truthful and I mean it from my heart. They just do not care.

Vote 42 - Rural and Community Development (Revised) (25 Apr 2018) Danny Healy-Rae: The money is being put to good use and we are grateful for it. I would like to think that it was because of my constant representations to the Minister. I am glad that he acceded and gave us the money. It is a great scheme and everyone appreciates it. I am not happy with the way the Leader programme is being rolled out. The system heretofore of development companies administering the...

- Select Committee on Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs: Heritage Bill 2016: Committee Stage (25 Apr 2018)
Danny Healy-Rae: I am concerned by the way the debate is going. What Deputy Tóibín is raising is not connected to what we are trying to do. The Bill is about extending the burning time by one month and extending the cutting time in August by one month. I do not agree with what he said about roadside hedges. No bird is foolish enough to make a nest on the side of a busy road and every road is...

- Select Committee on Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs: Heritage Bill 2016: Committee Stage (25 Apr 2018)
Danny Healy-Rae: I agree with the reasons that the Minister gave for extending the burning season for the month of March. I agree because those are the very reasons that I stated so many times when I was a member of Kerry County Council and since I was elected a Deputy and became a member of this committee. I agree with the Minister 100%. I do not have the time to go through it all and I shall not because...
- Select Committee on Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs: Heritage Bill 2016: Committee Stage (25 Apr 2018)
Danny Healy-Rae: I depend on them to obey the rules and regulations. The way the system has been set up for the past number of years has meant that they could not burn in March. In terms of uncontrolled burning, it was not all done...

Danny Healy-Rae: The Government has not given farmers a few extra bob to assist with the fodder crisis. Where will the Government get the money? We are not leprechauns and we cannot provide money like that for farmers.
