Caít Keane: Ba mhaith liom freisin comhghairdeas a dhéanamh le Jimmy Walsh as ucht an méid atá déanta aige sa seomra seo thar na blianta. Dhein sé a dhÃcheall i gcónaà chun ábhair an tSeanaid a chur chun cinn sna nuachtáin. I thank Jimmy Walsh, whom I have known for just a short time. I admire him and agree with whoever said he is a class act. He will be a difficult act to follow. I thank...

Caít Keane: I want to get on to the positive news that was announced yesterday. The use of the Oncotype DX cancer test, in the cases of 300 people, has saved the HSE ¤856,000 in one year. Ireland was the first country in Europe to use this test to elucidate whether cancer patients need chemotherapy. Approximately 50% of women who were tested avoided the need for chemotherapy. It has saved lives....

A debate on the...

Caít Keane: I spoke the last day about Mr. Jimmy Walsh so I will not dwell on it other than to wish him the very best in his retirement. He has so much to offer. We always talk about the lack of coverage of the Seanad in the media. Perhaps having somebody inside who knows the scene and how to do it best might not be a bad idea. I have been speaking on child care for the past 20 years in public. I was...
