- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport, Tourism and Sport: Accessibility of Public Transport for People with Disabilities: Discussion (Resumed) (7 Feb 2018)
Catherine Murphy: It is actually happening in Donegal, but Tipperary is the worst served county. Dublin is the best served. Catherine Murphy: The point is that there are 160,000 people living in Tipperary and there are 30 accessible taxis. A comparable county, also of rural make-up, is Donegal. This is not a comparison between an urban and a rural environment. It is comparing like with like. If...

Catherine Murphy: The issue of child care in its overall sense was very much pushed to the centre in 2005, when two by-elections were held in which child care became an issue because the by-elections happened to be in commuter belt areas.
