Michael McDowell: The person referred to by the Deputy is a refused asylum seeker in respect of whom a deportation order was made on 28 June 2006. She recently made an application for readmission to the asylum process under Section 17(7) of the Refugee Act, 1996 as amended. This application is currently being considered in my Department and a decision is expected to issue shortly.

The second named person was originally granted residency in the State on the basis of parentage of an Irish born child in 1997 and currently has permission to remain until 1st March 2009.
