Public Accounts Committee: IDA - Financial Statement 2016 (5 Oct 2017)

David Cullinane: The reason I ask is because whenever there is an announcement, we also get a nice even figure of 100 or 200 jobs or whatever. We want to know exactly how many were created. Are we just taking these round figures and adding them all up or do we actually have a real figure for what has actually been created?

Public Accounts Committee: IDA - Financial Statement 2016 (5 Oct 2017)

IDA Ireland looks at the unemployment figures and also meets...

Public Accounts Committee: IDA - Financial Statement 2016 (5 Oct 2017)

David Cullinane: How important is it that IDA Ireland's overall investment strategy and the national planning framework chime and are connected? How influential will IDA Ireland's view be in the new national planning framework? There were criticisms of previous spatial strategies, in which there was something for everybody in the audience. We are trying to move away from this in the regional cities,...

Public Accounts Committee: IDA - Financial Statement 2016 (5 Oct 2017)

David Cullinane: The issue of taxation was raised. I am not somebody who advocates increasing the rate of corporation tax. Who sets the rate?

Public Accounts Committee: IDA - Financial Statement 2016 (5 Oct 2017)

David Cullinane: Representatives of the Revenue Commissioners and other organisations have come before the Committee of Public Accounts with all sorts of opinion on revenue matters. If we ask the head of Revenue for an opinion, he says it is not a matter for him but for the Government. When the head of IDA Ireland says the rate should not be increased or decreased, it is a personal opinion because it is not...
