Mary Coughlan: The Electoral (Amendment) Bill 2008 is currently before the Seanad. It is the Minister's intention to introduce spending limits and to bring proposals in that regard before the Government. The other legislation to which the Deputy referred has been passed by the Seanad. It is now a matter for the Whips as to when it will come before this House.

Mary Coughlan: The legislation has been signed off by Government today. The specific details on the recapitalisation of the banks have not been completed and until such time as they have been finalised by the Minister and his Department, we will not be in a position to say what day it will come before the House. The over-arching piece of legislation was signed off this afternoon.
