Eugene Regan: The Minister has suggested we need to define the crime of blasphemy, which is an anachronism in itself. I have suggested a formula in this verbal amendment which would avoid the nonsense of the amendments the Minister has put in the Bill, which is the reason the House is so exercised, as was the Dáil. I ask the Cathaoirleach to allow this verbal amendment to be considered by the House.
