- Seanad: Annual National Transition Statement on Climate Action and Low Carbon Development: Statements (4 Dec 2018)
Terry Leyden: I welcome the Minister focusing on this issue. Yesterday we got a stark warning from David Attenborough on climate change when he said that civilisation is now nearing collapse. Terry Leyden: I commend the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission on initiating and providing the Oireachtas TV channel, which broadcasts live and is a good service that provides information for the public throughout the country.
- Seanad: Order of Business (5 Dec 2018)
Terry Leyden: The channel is only available if people have the proper platform to receive it. I regret very much that RTÉ has decided not to show "Oireachtas Report" on three nights of the week, that is, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
- Seanad: Order of Business (5 Dec 2018)
Terry Leyden: We are paying €160 per year for the licence fee and the public is entitled to have a summary of events in the Oireachtas during the day. Leaders' Questions are taken at 12 noon but a person who is working will not be able to watch them at that time and they are being deprived of the opportunity to see the debate until a night when the Oireachtas does not sit. RTÉ should restore...

- Seanad: Order of Business (12 Dec 2018)
Terry Leyden: In regard to Senator Humphreys's point on the coverage of the Oireachtas on RTÉ, I note that last night the deliberations of the Seanad went out live on Oireachtas TV all night until the sitting was finished. The most intriguing question was who was behind the screen with a phone. When the Cathaoirleach announced that the House would adjourn for 15 minutes, people were wondering if...
- Seanad: Order of Business (12 Dec 2018)
Terry Leyden: Much more importantly, I would like to extend sympathy to the mayor and the people of Strasbourg and to the President of France on the tragic shooting carried out by terrorists in the city's beautiful Christmas market last night, during the sitting of the European Parliament. Of course the timing was a political statement. The attackers could not get through to the European Parliament...
