David Norris: I can guarantee one thing: that will silence every gay pupil and lead to an increase in homophobic bullying.

David Norris: Yes. I am asking that we have this debate so that we can discuss this in a reasonably measured way. I know of continued instances of homophobic bullying in schools, inspired by clergy, and I want to make sure no such campaign against gay marriage is instituted in this country by the religious. Believe me, it will lead to further examples of bullying.
