Mary Butler: I will interject and ask Mr. Fleming a question if he does not mind. Is he saying this is a racist issue? In his opinion, are only coloured people affected by this? Can Mr. Fleming give us an example scenario? Are there 20 or 30 crew members on a trawler or ten? Are two or three people being picked out while the rest are being treated well?

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation: Atypical Work Permit Scheme: Discussion (4 Jul 2017)

- Early Childhood Care and Education: Motion (Resumed) [Private Members] (5 Jul 2017)
Mary Butler: As we heard earlier, many staff working in the early childhood education sector will be forced to sign on this week for the duration of the summer. Some even signed on last week. Mary Butler: I congratulate the Minister of State with responsibility for mental health and older people, Deputy Jim Daly, on his appointment.
