Colm Burke: I got a reply from the HSE about a 90-year-old lady who lives on her own and who uses a walking frame to move around. The HSE replied that she is getting one hour a week. With all due respect, to say there is no waiting list for home care is wrong.

Colm Burke: As to how bad it is now, though, this week I had two families on to me and they were being requested to be placed in a nursing home in Limerick. One of them was living just on the outskirts of Cork city and their elderly parent was asked to go into a nursing home facility in Limerick.
