Susan O'Keeffe: No. I have taken notes-----

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Public Service Oversight and Petitions: Security and Protocol Issues: Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (12 Feb 2014)

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Public Service Oversight and Petitions: Security and Protocol Issues: Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (12 Feb 2014)

Susan O'Keeffe: No; they are not new issues.

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Public Service Oversight and Petitions: Security and Protocol Issues: Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (12 Feb 2014)

Susan O'Keeffe: I thought there would be an opportunity. I did not interrupt for that very reason. I was allowing the meeting to go on.

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Effects of Recent Storms on Fishing Community (13 Feb 2014)

Susan O'Keeffe: I thank Dr. Beamish for his presentation. Its clarity is greatly appreciated. Is the breakdown of the co-funding 90% from the Department and 10% from local councils?

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Effects of Recent Storms on Fishing Community (13 Feb 2014)

Susan O'Keeffe: There will be a committee meeting to evaluate the eligibility of projects. Does that imply some of the smaller piers will not be repaired? Or is the meeting to decide the order of repair? If a fisherman lost all of his pots, will he still be subject to this mathematical equation that will only give a third of the cost? How many months must a fisherman have to show as proof of actively pot...

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Effects of Recent Storms on Fishing Community (13 Feb 2014)

Susan O'Keeffe: Will they all get attended to?

Susan O'Keeffe: I accept that but for the Department.

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Overview of Land Use: Teagasc (18 Feb 2014)

Susan O'Keeffe: I thank the delegates for bringing clarity to an enormous body of work. As Deputy Thomas Pringle suggested, we would probably have to lock ourselves in this room for a week to do justice to their research, but we will start where we can. The global soil challenges are big issues, but there is no mention of the almost 1 billion people we currently fail to feed. That is important to be put...

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Overview of Land Use: Teagasc (18 Feb 2014)

Susan O'Keeffe: Dr. Schulte mentioned additional action may be required to maintain pristine water bodies. I refer to the freshwater pearl mussel. It is a big qualification, that it "may be required". I wonder why it may be required. I understand the cost, but I wonder whether that is the only consideration.

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Overview of Land Use: Teagasc (18 Feb 2014)

Susan O'Keeffe: One point we did not touch on is the green, orange and red table in the presentation. Do we have the prospect of turning the red area to green? I could put the question better but witnesses know what I mean.

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Overview of Land Use: Teagasc (18 Feb 2014)

Susan O'Keeffe: Scientifically, is it possible?

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Overview of Land Use: Teagasc (18 Feb 2014)

Susan O'Keeffe: The slides are very clever; they are too clever for us.

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Public Service Oversight and Petitions: Security and Surveillance Issues: Minister for Justice and Equality (19 Feb 2014)

Susan O'Keeffe: In the wake of the publication of the first article in The Sunday Timesand having arranged to meet GSOC, did the Minister at any point decide to meet the Garda Commissioner to discuss the matter?

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Public Service Oversight and Petitions: Security and Surveillance Issues: Minister for Justice and Equality (19 Feb 2014)

Susan O'Keeffe: At what point did the Minister talk to the Commissioner, or did he talk to him about it at all?

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Public Service Oversight and Petitions: Security and Surveillance Issues: Minister for Justice and Equality (19 Feb 2014)

Susan O'Keeffe: Did the Minister and the Commissioner have a conversation about these matters on that occasion?

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Public Service Oversight and Petitions: Security and Surveillance Issues: Minister for Justice and Equality (19 Feb 2014)

Susan O'Keeffe: I am asking whether the Minister had a private conversation with the Commissioner.

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Public Service Oversight and Petitions: Security and Surveillance Issues: Minister for Justice and Equality (19 Feb 2014)

Susan O'Keeffe: I presume the unredacted report the Minister received from Verrimus contains the mistake.

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Public Service Oversight and Petitions: Security and Surveillance Issues: Minister for Justice and Equality (19 Feb 2014)

Susan O'Keeffe: I find it odd that a company such as Verrimus and an organisation such as the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission would have allowed that version to be the final report. The Minister knows as well as I that if one received a report and that if it contained something that was not correct, one would - I am sure - state that it was still a draft version and ask for it to be corrected....
