Terry Leyden: I am delighted. It is a very detailed Bill, which is why we need to tease out areas. The headquarters of the Garda for Roscommon-east Galway is in my area and I recall that when the late Brian Lenihan was Minister of State, he had to intervene to ensure that those headquarters did not move to the constituency of Senator Ulick Burke, to Ballinasloe or to Tuam.

Terry Leyden: In my term as Minister of State I had to give regular reassurances that the Roscommon Garda station would not be downgraded and would be retained as a regional Garda headquarters. I am delighted that the former Minister, Padraig Flynn, provided enormous resources during his term of office for the development to a very high standard of the Garda station in Roscommon.
