- Joint Oireachtas Committee on European Union Affairs: Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership: Discussion (27 Mar 2015)
Terry Leyden: I welcome Commissioner Malmström, Ms Barbara Nolan from the EU Dublin office and Ms Nele Eichhorn, to our committee. I am delighted to have an opportunity to exchange views at this stage about one of the most important trade negotiations in the history of the European Union. It could benefit the overall European Union to the tune of €100 billion. Our concerns in Ireland are...

Terry Leyden: That is right.
- Seanad: Order of Business (31 Mar 2015)
Terry Leyden: I second the amendment to the Order of Business proposed by Senator Darragh O'Brien. What is the status of the Intoxicating Liquor (Amendment) Bill 2014 which Senator Imelda Henry tabled? The name of the Leader is also on the Bill which is No. 26 on the Order Paper. With Good Friday coming up, it would be timely to have a discussion on the issue. The Fianna Fáil Party has not made a...
- Seanad: Order of Business (31 Mar 2015)
Terry Leyden: I did not realise that the public houses in Northern Ireland would open on Good Friday, whereas the Roman Catholics cannot open, perhaps we should look at this again.
- Seanad: Order of Business (31 Mar 2015)

- Seanad: Commencement Matters: Traffic Regulations (1 Apr 2015)
Terry Leyden: I warmly welcome the Minister to the House and thank him for coming in. He has a very busy schedule and he did not receive much notice about this matter. I am therefore delighted he is here today. I also welcome Martin Plummer, the chairman of the National Chauffeur Drivers Association and Mick Devine and his son, Shane Devine, who are members of the association and who are in the Visitors...
- Seanad: Commencement Matters: Traffic Regulations (1 Apr 2015)
Terry Leyden: In a sense, I am disappointed but this is the start of the campaign. As a former Minister of State, I know the Minister has set a certain precedent and he has not had the opportunity to study this in detail. I hope he does so in due course. Chauffeur driven cars will not stop in a bus lane, unlike taxis that may pick up passengers. Chauffeurs go straight through with no delay and they add...
- Seanad: Order of Business (1 Apr 2015)
Terry Leyden: I ask the Leader to invite the Minister for Justice and Equality, Deputy Frances Fitzgerald, to attend this House to discuss the report by Mr. Dominic McGinn SC into the tragic death of Fr. Niall Molloy 30 years ago, on 8 July 1985. He was our local curate in the Castlecoote Fuerty parish, so I knew him well personally. It is a shame and a scandal that nobody has been found guilty of the...

Terry Leyden: But it is in the report.
- Seanad: Order of Business (1 Apr 2015)
Terry Leyden: I think the Minister should come into the House. It should also be borne in mind that Fianna Fáil was not in government at that particular time - it was a coalition Government. There is an implication that a senior member of Fianna Fáil was at the wedding. He was with his wife but they left on 7 July. They were not there on the day that Fr. Molloy was murdered or died tragically.
- Seanad: Order of Business (1 Apr 2015)
Terry Leyden: Fr. Molloy was chaplain to the Irish Defence Forces at Custume Barracks, Athlone. He was a popular member there. He told me himself that he was disappointed when the bishop of the day, Bishop Dominic Conway, moved him to our parish of Fuerty at that time.
- Seanad: National Integration Strategy: Motion (1 Apr 2015)
Terry Leyden: I welcome the Minister of State, Deputy Aodhán Ó Ríordáin.
