- Telecommunications Services. (25 Nov 2009)
P J Sheehan: The Minister failed to fully address my question. I asked for the percentage that remains to be covered by the national broadband scheme. The map circulated to Deputies reveals that huge tracts of the country are not covered. I ask the Minister when the greater part of my constituency of Cork South-West will be completely covered by the scheme.
- Telecommunications Services. (25 Nov 2009)
P J Sheehan: Vast areas of my constituency are not covered by the map circulated to us two days ago. I am amazed that is the case. The tip of Sheep's Head peninsula will be covered but Kilcrohane, Ahakista and Durrus will not.

- Order of Business (26 Nov 2009)
P J Sheehan: Under promised legislation, when will the Tánaiste introduce the legislation on capacity and ratification of the disability convention? I understand the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform published the draft legislation in September 2008. The legislation was due to be published in early 2009, but that has not happened. When will it be introduced? It is long over due and this...

- Foreshore and Dumping at Sea (Amendment) Bill 2009 [Seanad]: Second Stage (3 Dec 2009)
P J Sheehan: While I welcome the Bill, many points require clarification. I must state here and now that I welcome it to see whether it will expedite decisions on applications lying in the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food for the past number of years that have not been dealt with. It is a sad reflection that people in my constituency who have applied for foreshore licences to develop...
- Foreshore and Dumping at Sea (Amendment) Bill 2009 [Seanad]: Second Stage (3 Dec 2009)
P J Sheehan: The Minister of State can deal with that and the flooding. He is not too far from it and if he could look after the flooding in the River Lee, there would not be such devastation in Cork. At long last it looks like the Government has seen the light of day. I am amazed at the Minister of State with responsibility for the marine dragging his feet. I know people who applied for foreshore...

- Budget Statement 2010 (9 Dec 2009)
P J Sheehan: What about the Swansea ferry? There was no mention of that. Deputy Brian Lenihan: CONCLUSION I want to recall the death earlier this year of Senator Ted Kennedy. Senator Kennedy was unquestionably one of the best friends Ireland ever had on Capitol Hill. Today, in a modest way I would like to honour the memory of a great man from a great family. The Government will provide funding for a...

- Social Welfare and Pensions (No. 2) Bill 2009: Second Stage (Resumed) (10 Dec 2009)
P J Sheehan: This Government has put 250,000 people on the unemployment register. Many more have been put out of work but are not receiving a welfare payment and we do not know how many of our young people have been driven abroad. This Bill is a damning indictment of a disastrous Government that has failed its people. The Government does not give a damn for anyone or anything other than surviving and...
