Jerry Buttimer: In terms of the EU working directive, a number of parents of non-consultant hospital doctors, NCHDs, came to see me because they were genuinely concerned about the number of hours they worked, their health and the stress they were under. I have spoken to members of the Irish Medical Organisation who were involved in the NCHD sub-committee and they are concerned.
