Money does not solve every problem. In late 2022,...

Ceisteanna ó Cheannairí - Leaders' Questions (18 Sep 2024)

Michael Fitzmaurice: The hospital in Galway said to bring him home because it did not have a bed. Is that the Ireland we have for treating people with disabilities? Are we going to change it and tell people they have a job to do and they must deliver? This is not about money; it is about delivery. It is scandalous what that father has gone through.

Ceisteanna ó Cheannairí - Leaders' Questions (18 Sep 2024)

Michael Fitzmaurice: The problem appears to be that if a case is a difficult one, the provider can decide that it is too much hassle and throw the money back. That is what is going on. Select Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Agriculture Appeals (Amendment) Bill 2024: Committee Stage (25 Sep 2024)

Michael Fitzmaurice: I thank the Minister and his staff for coming in to the committee. Probably everyone in the committee does a good few appeals. I find them pretty quick, in fairness. It can happen to anybody and was not a reflection on the person in the appeal I was involved in. If an independent appeals officer happens to become sick, which is not his or her fault - I am not taking aim at anyone - there...
