Aisling Dolan: I welcome Senator Clonan to the House. I acknowledge the fundraising efforts for Ukraine all across our towns and villages. It was devastating to see what has happened in Bucha...
- Seanad: Tourism: Statements (5 Apr 2022)
Aisling Dolan: I thank the Minister for her time today. I welcome her announcement. As the Minister heard, all across Ireland there are incredible attractions. However, we need to talk about our natural resources as well, such as our cycleways, walkways and railways, and how we are connecting people and bringing them together. We have that in heart of Ballinasloe. I ask the Minister about the...

Aisling Dolan: I welcome all the attendees. It is great to have them here. They have a huge wealth of knowledge. I have a couple of queries I might pose on some of the submissions. I thank the attendees. Mr. Ryan, from the HSE, referred in his submission to some of the elements in the HSE and community health organisations, CHOs, in respect of local engagement. That was quite important to raise. How...

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Education and Skills: Future Funding of Higher Education: Discussion (Resumed) (5 Apr 2022)
Aisling Dolan: It is crucial. Ms Murphy spoke about the mentorship being crucial, and we have spoken about this before along with Dr. Morning and Mr. Smyth. It is crucial that we get those additional supports. I am aware that more than €500,000 has gone to Trinity College in terms of mental health supports in the past two years. This has been to recruit additional counsellors and to support those...

Aisling Dolan: Absolutely. Following on from that, I am aware that my university, the National University of Ireland Galway, NUIG, was the first mindfulness university. This is something that all universities are now putting in place. That mindfulness theme is so crucial. On local engagement, there were 35 local engagement leads. When will Mr. Ryan clarify if there is a link there with third level?

Aisling Dolan: I am in two committees at the moment so I apologise for skipping between both. I will catch up with my colleagues and review this subsequently. I know the Mental Health Commission is indicating that it is very opposed to the intermediate category of patient and believes it would infringe on the rights of service users. If the witnesses from the commission have already commented on this,...

- Seanad: An tOrd Gnó - Order of Business (26 Apr 2022)
Aisling Dolan: I acknowledge that the Minister for Justice, Deputy McEntee, visited Roscommon last week, which was phenomenal. She was there to pay tribute to the Horses for Hope equine centre, which is the first of its kind in Europe and has been opened at Castlerea Prison. It offers people the opportunity to work with animals. We saw many of the prisoners there go on a course over a number of months...

Aisling Dolan: I ask the Deputy Leader to arrange a debate or to update us on the Connecting Ireland rural mobility plan, which deals with the bus networks between towns and villages located outside of urban areas. Aisling Dolan: I wish to acknowledge the absolute power of having the three female leaders of the Government parties here. We can see that power today. I wish to acknowledge the work done by Senators Doherty, Chambers and Pauline...
