I can certainly see the benefits of mortgage insurance or a mortgage indemnity guarantee, whichever the witnesses prefer to call it. Michael McGrath: The companies seem to say different things about the cost. JLT seems to say the bank will pay a one-off premium in respect of the insurance policy. In the other examples I assume the borrower will pay a monthly premium to the insurance company. Is that how it works? Genworth might reply first.
