Tom Parlon: As the River Slate forms part of the Rathangan drainage district, the maintenance of the river is a matter for the local authority. The Office of Public Works carried out drainage works on the river in 2003, as agents for Kildare County Council. There are no proposals to carry out further works.

Tom Parlon: Land Registry and the Registry of Deeds are based in a number of different locations in Dublin. Staff numbering 230 are due to decentralise to County Roscommon.
