James Bannon: I was surprised at the reason given by a Department official to the principal of the school that they did not apply in time online for a transport service.

James Bannon: There is a problem in rural areas that the Department is not aware of: poor quality or non-existent broadband. That is a huge issue across rural Ireland. We cannot expect people to go online where broadband is non-existent. Provision should be made for those types of situation.
