Jackie Cahill: I cannot believe what we are hearing here. We had two years to get ready to take this policy to Brussels and here we are, six months into it, dealing with issues that should have been dealt with two years ago. The forestry sector is on its knees. Contractors are looking in at this session to see if there is light at the end of the tunnel. Whatever hope they had is disappearing very fast.

Jackie Cahill: We are worse. To say we are appalled at what we are hearing is an understatement. This is unbelievable. We are going backwards at a rate of knots. As Deputy Fitzmaurice said, all of these issues should have been dealt with before this project went anywhere near Brussels.
