The information was sent out to bus operators on Friday afternoon last and they were expected to have their tenders in by Monday. Bus Éireann has given a 48-hour extension to 12 noon today, but expecting operators to be able to fill out the very intensive tender document...

Jackie Cahill: I thank the witnesses for coming in today. They have made a comprehensive argument for the need for a second school and for Limerick as a location that would fit symmetrically with our needs. As they said, it has a proven track record in medicine, which is an important factor in the establishment of a veterinary school that will need a high academic reputation if it is to be successful....

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Farm Partnerships with Coillte: Discussion (24 May 2023)
Jackie Cahill: Before I go to other committee members, the first question I want to ask is if farmers surrendered their own premium to get the premium from the forestry service. The farmers were not getting the Government premium, for want of a better term.

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Farm Partnerships with Coillte: Discussion (24 May 2023)
Jackie Cahill: I will allow Senator Daly to take the Chair in a moment. Mr. Anhold said the situation can be rectified. I find it hard to see how that will be done because thinning and clear fells have taken place on some of these estates. My understanding is that no weigh dockets have been provided.
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Farm Partnerships with Coillte: Discussion (24 May 2023)
Jackie Cahill: How will it be shown retrospectively what quantity of timber was taken and what was the price for the timber at that particular time? Some of this is going back a number of years. - Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Farm Partnerships with Coillte: Discussion (24 May 2023)
Jackie Cahill: There may be another plantation of the same age that has been thinned. The owner would have managed it and have records of what was taken off. Surely, an arbitrator would take that into account, as an estimate of what volume left the plantation?
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Farm Partnerships with Coillte: Discussion (24 May 2023)
Jackie Cahill: That is the question I asked before I left for the vote. It defies comprehension that products can be taken off a farm and the owner of the land not be given a weigh sheet to show what volume left. I cannot get my head around it.
