John Curran: That is the first time that point has been made, but it occurred to me during the discussion that it is a point worth commenting on. It seems to me that staff make more in tips in venues that do not have service charges. The witnesses will probably agree with me. From the point of view of clarity, would it not be better if restaurants included the service charge in the unit price of the dish?
