I refer in particular to the abolition of local authority representation by...

Finance Bill 2009: Report and Final Stages (27 May 2009)

Seán Barrett: Is there any reference in the Commission on Taxation terms of reference to the ongoing unfairness to women, mainly, who are home makers and look after their children? One of the Minister's predecessors decided to abolish the allowance that was available and strip these people of the recognition of the very valuable work they do on a daily basis. We try to substitute that by giving...

Finance Bill 2009: Report and Final Stages (27 May 2009)

Seán Barrett: I welcome this proposal as it is time we decided on the exact definition of a tax exile. There are many such definitions.
