Paul McAuliffe: 140. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the funding to date this year for independent youth projects in Dublin; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [31113/25]

Public Accounts Committee: Business of Committee (12 Jun 2025)

Paul McAuliffe: Could I clarify whether it is at this stage that we comment on whether we would like representatives of bodies to appear before us?

Public Accounts Committee: Business of Committee (12 Jun 2025)

Paul McAuliffe: Representatives of Home Building Finance Ireland were before the committee previously and there were issues over delivery and access to funding from parties that perhaps were not the primary reason the body was established. I wonder whether the issues have been addressed or whether it would be worth asking the representatives to appear before the committee again.

Public Accounts Committee: Business of Committee (12 Jun 2025)

Paul McAuliffe: On the basis that housing is such an important issue and that the committee has previously addressed this, it would be worth having representatives before our committee as part of our work plan.

Public Accounts Committee: Business of Committee (12 Jun 2025)

Paul McAuliffe: Will we be agreeing the questionnaire to CHI, which we will put to its representatives, in advance later in private session?

Public Accounts Committee: Business of Committee (12 Jun 2025)

Paul McAuliffe: Why does it appear in the members' brief?

Public Accounts Committee: Business of Committee (12 Jun 2025)

Paul McAuliffe: Why is it in it?

Public Accounts Committee: Business of Committee (12 Jun 2025)

Paul McAuliffe: We will follow the Chair's lead.

Public Accounts Committee: Business of Committee (12 Jun 2025)

Paul McAuliffe: My only request is that we would write to the Department to seek clarification on the details that have been provided to us.

Public Accounts Committee: Business of Committee (12 Jun 2025)

Paul McAuliffe: I only flagged this because of the proximity of the meeting with the Peter McVerry Trust. It relates to a contractor who has not been paid. There may be valid reasons for that or there may not. I ask that we make that the Peter McVerry Trust be made aware of it in advance of its representatives attending so that they can answer questions on it if it raised.

Public Accounts Committee: Business of Committee (12 Jun 2025)

Paul McAuliffe: I was particularly concerned about the RTÉ programme because one of the nursing homes, Beneavin Manor, is in my constituency. I live five minutes' walk from that home. It is part of a campus comprising three nursing homes that are operated separately by Emeis. I took many calls this week from people who are genuinely concerned about the welfare of their relatives in the home. They...

Public Accounts Committee: Business of Committee (12 Jun 2025)

Paul McAuliffe: The C and AG said he believes the CHI report on the NTPF should have been available to him previously. Will he expand on why he is of that view, including the grounds on which it should have been made available and when he should have had it?

Public Accounts Committee: Business of Committee (12 Jun 2025)

Paul McAuliffe: Is that because of a financial risk?

Public Accounts Committee: Business of Committee (12 Jun 2025)

Paul McAuliffe: On that basis, I ask that the committee make a request that a copy of the document, or the relevant details, be made available to us.

Ceisteanna - Questions: Departmental Reports (17 Jun 2025)

Paul McAuliffe: 16. To ask the Taoiseach if he will provide an update on the implementation of the Dublin city task force recommendations through his Department, and on his plans to apply the task force model to other areas in need of revitalisation. [32473/25]

Ceisteanna - Questions: Departmental Reports (17 Jun 2025)

Paul McAuliffe: I know that, as a Cork man, the Taoiseach will join me in saying how great Dublin city is, but as great as it is, we certainly have challenges, especially in the city centre. The task force report was an important way of identifying those challenges. The challenge now will be delivering them. Within the Dublin City Council structure, there certainly seems to be the appetite to establish...

Ceisteanna Eile - Other Questions: Childcare Services (17 Jun 2025)

Paul McAuliffe: While the pay and conditions of staff are incredibly important, the physical buildings in which they operate are also important. While I particularly welcome the building blocks programme which was an important initiative, the Minister and I know the limitations of that. We could do with a few more bob from the Department of public expenditure - if it was giving it to the Minister - but...

Ceisteanna Eile - Other Questions: Health Services (17 Jun 2025)

Paul McAuliffe: 83. To ask the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth for plans and an indicative timeline of implementation for a community neuro-rehabilitation team for the treatment of neurological patients in north Dublin, as committed to in the programme for Government; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [32453/25]

Ceisteanna Eile - Other Questions: Health Services (17 Jun 2025)

Paul McAuliffe: I recently met with the Neurological Alliance of Ireland who raised a number of questions with me. They were specifically interested in the programme for Government commitment, which seeks to put in place community neuro-rehabilitation teams. I was particularly concerned when they alerted me to the fact that north Dublin, the area that covers my constituency, does not currently have a...
