Patrick O'Donovan: All of the 2,320 applications received under the 2017 Sports Capital Programme are being assessed by officials in my Department.  Given the number of applications received and the detailed information submitted, it will take a number of months to complete the assessment process.  It is expected that an announcement regarding allocations will be made in September.

Patrick O'Donovan: I do not propose to accept this because it is inferred. I accept all the Deputy's legitimate concerns, but it can be taken that under section 6 of the Freedom of Information Act 2014 that the NSSO is already subjected to that Act. I do not propose to accept the amendment because the points made have already been captured by the existing freedom of information legislation.
