- Hospital Services: Motion (Resumed) [Private Members] (15 Jan 2015)
Timmy Dooley: It is up to the Government, which has had four years and some successes, but there is a gaping hole now because it has continued to reduce the number of beds and its investment. It now has the capacity to invest in a structured way, because there is more money available, yet the Government refuses to do it. An example of that is the Minister’s failure to get the additional €75...

- Topical Issue Debate: Airport Landing Slots (20 Jan 2015)
Timmy Dooley: I welcome the opportunity to contribute with my colleagues to the debate on this issue of major importance not only to the region I represent but to the wider country. I will try to explain this under two headings. From the point of view of the capacity for the slots to be reallocated to other destinations in the event of Aer Lingus being sold, Shannon and Cork Airports depend hugely on...
- Topical Issue Debate: Airport Landing Slots (20 Jan 2015)
Timmy Dooley: I thank the Minister for his clear outline of the situation as to how slots are owned and traded, as well as acquired as a grandfather right. Will he clear up the myth, if he can, and explain clearly that there is no mechanism by which the slots can be retained by the airports in the event of an outright sale of the company? It is my understanding there is no legal mechanism whatsoever that...

Timmy Dooley: I thank the Chairman. I welcome the ambassador and his staff and thank him for setting out his broad objectives and how he intends to reach a position on them over the next number of months. I wish to raise some issues that have been outstanding for some time, one of which is banking union. What role can Dr. Apals play in driving that agenda? From our economic perspective it is quite...

- Committee on Transport and Communications: Select Sub-Committee on Transport, Tourism and Sport: Aviation Agreements: Motion (21 Jan 2015)
Timmy Dooley: These matters are relatively straightforward. I thank the Minister for his presentation. While these agreements are being updated and accepting their existence, is there any potential benefit other than what we are already gaining from them from Ireland's perspective? As a new Minister in the Department perhaps he would take a look at our relationship with the various states outside Europe...

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications: Fuel Fraud: (Resumed) Consumers Association of Ireland and Insurance Ireland (21 Jan 2015)
Timmy Dooley: I welcome both presentations. We often get very long and windy presentations. That is not to cast aspersions on anyone who has been before us today. Both speakers have been succinct and helpful. Mr. Thompson has set out what the insurance industry has done in regard to this matter. He has indicated that approximately 600 claims have been paid. That is very good news if it is the case....
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications: Fuel Fraud: (Resumed) Consumers Association of Ireland and Insurance Ireland (21 Jan 2015)
Timmy Dooley: To answer my question Mr. Thompson might tabulate for us the number of claims paid out that were in a comprehensive plan, the number in a comprehensive plan that were not paid out, and the number who had third party cover that were denied compensation for that reason. What we really want to know are the reasons those with comprehensive cover were declined.

Timmy Dooley: It is amazing that the Labour Party takes such a blasé approach to industrial relations.
