Noel Dempsey: The role of the Health and Safety Authority is that provided for in the Health, Safety and Welfare at Work Act 2005 as interpreted by the Courts. The Act provides primarily for the safety of workers in the workplace. Noel Dempsey: I can confirm that my Department has on hand a notification from Bus Eireann for bus passenger services in Ennis, County Clare. The notification has been examined and the Company has been asked on a number of occasions, most recently in October 2007 to supply information that is required before a decision can be made. This information is still awaited.
