Mick Wallace: On a number of occasions, the deputy commissioner issued press releases around holiday time and at bank holidays. - Joint Oireachtas Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality: Recent Issues Relating to An Garda Síochána: Acting Garda Commissioner Dónall Ó Cualáin (4 Oct 2017)
Mick Wallace: The RSA was able to go to the then Minister, now Taoiseach, with information on this. Even though Mr. Twomey was head of the national traffic bureau, he did not seem to know what was going on. However, the RSA did and was able to go to the then Minister with information. Given the responsibilities Mr. Twomey had, how in God's name did he not know what was going on all that time?

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality: Recent Issues Relating to An Garda Síochána: Acting Garda Commissioner Dónall Ó Cualáin (4 Oct 2017)
Mick Wallace: The deputy commissioner has not identified where the problems are. He and his colleagues are kicking the can down the road in saying they are looking at various things. Surely senior management has to carry the can. If I build an office block and the first floor falls in, the courts will not going looking for the fellow who poured the concrete or shuttered it. They will go looking for me....
- Financial Resolutions 2018 - Budget Statement 2018 (10 Oct 2017)
Mick Wallace: The budget was a serious damp squib and particularly disappointing in view of it being the first budget of the new Minister for Finance, Deputy Donohoe, and the first during the Taoiseach's time in charge. I was at the Ireland versus Wales football match in Cardiff last night and I can assure the Minister that the spirits and well-being of the people of Ireland got more of a boost from that...
- Financial Resolutions 2018 - Budget Statement 2018 (10 Oct 2017)
Mick Wallace: It has no experience in the property game or in housing. There is no one on the board with any experience in this area. Between late 2016 and the first five months of 2017, 91 of NAMA's staff have left. Anyone who is any good is getting out of the place because its name is muck now and they do not want anything to do with it. I will outline part of the problem. Tallaght Cross West...

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality: Wards of Court: Discussion (11 Oct 2017)
Mick Wallace: I thank the witness for her presentation. I apologise that I do not know as much as I should about this issue. Ms Farrell has painted a pretty bleak picture of the whole system. On her last point about a lack of transparency and accountability - this will not be of much comfort to her - that seems to be a predominant theme in how we do things in this country. I get the impression from...
