David Stanton: Last year I was happy to be able to facilitate a group coming before the justice committee because lifting the statute is a justice matter. At the time the committee gave support on all sides to the issue in writing to the Government and I am delighted we are united as a House on the matter. David Stanton: This is an extraordinarily interesting question and it will take time to address it. We may invite the ITM to make a written submission to the committee on it. It is both interesting and important, but we cannot give it the time it deserves. Perhaps we might revisit it because it is central to what we are doing.

David Stanton: My concern is that we will not be able to do it justice now in the time available. I would like to give people an opportunity to think about it, prepare and make a presentation at a later date.
