Noel Grealish: With regard to the housing (miscellaneous provisions) Bill, Threshold published a report last week showing only 147 properties available to rent in Galway city. I presume that is repeated in other cities. It is causing a major problem for the people on the housing waiting list. Rental prices are increasing.

Noel Grealish: At a joint policing committee meeting on Monday last, the Garda outlined that there has been a 20% increase in crime levels in rural areas of Galway. Some ten Garda stations have been closed and 27 Garda vehicles have been taken out of commission in the areas to which I refer.
