Emmet Stagg: Earlier in the Order of Business debate, as I suppose one could call it, the Tánaiste indicated that she would welcome a decision to change the Standing Orders so that we could have Leaders' Questions on Thursday. If that is the case, all she has to do is tell her Whip, the Whips on the other side of the House will readily accept that and we can do it today so that it is finalised-----

Emmet Stagg: -----before next Thursday when we will have orderly Leaders' Questions. It would be a much more orderly process than leaders trying to squeeze in questions under promised legislation. We will do it before next Thursday if the Tánaiste agrees. The other point I want to raise is that Deputy Durkan is not a lone voice on the issue of parliamentary questions and answers.

Emmet Stagg: There are two problems and the Ceann Comhairle is aware of them. I thank the Ceann Comhairle for writing to the Ministers - in fact, his predecessor did the same - for all the good it did. They ignored the Ceann Comhairle and the CPP which wrote to them and told them that they should answer questions properly. Most of them did not even bother to acknowledge the letter from the Ceann...
