Gerry Adams: I understand the Minister for Justice and Equality is still considering this. The Taoiseach gave a commitment to come back in a fortnight and, while we cannot hold him to that as he is, of course, very busy, this involves a small number of people who are mostly elderly and frail. I wonder if it could be done before the recess.

Gerry Adams: I am not going to oppose the Government on this, but we discussed this at our group meeting earlier on, and the case was made that there is no provision for the staff. There had to be an intervention earlier on to have a break. There are many women here who have children and who came in this morning at 7.30 a.m. It is a big argument for changing the way we work this institution.
