Kevin O'Keeffe: In my time in the local authority, we had big demand for signs to be erected because they were seen as a hindrance. Obviously we will not get gardaí situated at the same point every day 24-7, 31 days of the month and 12 months of the year. The vans are the same thing. People are aware that the byroads are danger zones and that it is hit and miss with the vans.
