Brendan Ryan: He was a bricklayer and he has been placed on a training programme entitled Sales and Digital Marketing. He has absolutely no interest in that programme, will not benefit from it and has no motivation to go there any day of the week. At some point in that programme he will be expected to go on placement in a job.

Brendan Ryan: Probably two or three years, since the boom ended. That is an example of someone who has been inappropriately placed. I am saying this as a challenge to the Department so that it applies controls to avoid wasting resources.
