Ann Phelan: I welcome the community groups to the meeting.

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications: EirGrid Grid25 Project: Discussion (20 Nov 2013)

Ann Phelan: I will be as brief as possible. Like other members, I have met community groups to discuss the EirGrid project. I am struck by the lack of consultation, which has led to a loss of confidence in EirGrid. Public confidence has been eroded, and as recently as yesterday, we have received messages from people who have been unsuccessful in getting information from the company. That is not how...

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications: EirGrid Grid25 Project: Discussion (20 Nov 2013)

Where the cable sags, EirGrid must get a 9 m clearance and that is what determines the height of a pylon. It is my understanding there has been no decision on the height of the pylon except what I have outlined. Am I incorrect?
