David Stanton: I thank the Minister for her reply. Would it not make sense to synchronise the starting ages for preschool and primary school? Under the preschool scheme, children born in July and August must wait until they are five years old to start school if they are to avail of the scheme. How many children are impacted by this anomaly?

David Stanton: Is it true it is taking six weeks for appeals to be logged to the system from the time they are received in the office? In saying that I am not criticising the staff in any way because I realise the pressure they are under. If that is the case, when does the clock start ticking?
