I put it to Mr. Sheridan that the providence of the hikes in charges and fees is irrelevant to the people who have to endure these increases. I appreciate that he said some of these relate back to the charges that stood notified in 1996. Perhaps I will take him up on that...

In the case of the Bank of Ireland there is a whole raft of increases in electronic banking services for debit and credit cards and services by businesses increasing by 30%. Does that date back to 1996 as well?
