Chapter 8 - Contract payments in respect of Convention Centre Dublin (15 Dec 2022) Neasa Hourigan: I am not suggesting it should police them. I did not use the word "police". I am asking if the OPW is reaching out and informing people on what is the correct thing to do.

Chapter 8 - Contract payments in respect of Convention Centre Dublin (15 Dec 2022) Neasa Hourigan: I know I am out of time, but I want to ask for an updated figure. We talked about this when the OPW was before the committee previously. We are aware that €560 million has been spent on flood works since 2016. Chapter 8 - Contract payments in respect of Convention Centre Dublin (15 Dec 2022) Neasa Hourigan: That is a similar figure to the one we had the last time the OPW was here. Obviously, there have been massive levels of construction inflation. Considering the cost of concrete, I am of the view that 20% is going to be a conservative figure in the long term. Neasa Hourigan: Apologies have been received from Deputy Patricia Ryan. All those present in the committee room are asked to exercise personal responsibility to protect themselves and others from the risk of contracting Covid-19. Neasa Hourigan: Fair enough, Deputy Durkan. To be honest, I agree with Deputy Canney. We will be writing a report and the committee in general is particularly interested in the regional uplift. Unless anyone wants to add a question, at this stage, I suspect it might be better to adjourn the meeting for the vote.
